Almost There

I have returned to the 24th floor! 1/2 pound to go and those boots are mine! I am feeling so much better about everything today! Saturday's weigh in was exactly what I needed. Those night-time weights are always a big hit to my psyche, to one of the councelors told me to ignore the evening weigh ins and concentrate on what that scale says Saturday Morning!

I wish someone had said that to me a month ago. ~lol~

Now, for a quick product review:

If you really, really, really like chocolate, the double chocolate pudding may be right up your alley. If you are like me, and only like chocolate mixed with some other flavor...don't go there!

Have a great day lovely readers!

  1. Hi Chaney,

Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for sharing your journey.

I'm on Day 3 of the prep and wondering if I've signed up for something horribly wrong ....

Most of my meals were eaten out previously. How do you deal with eating out?

Do you still drink the Thermo-Boosts? They give me cotton-mouth and I don't like the way they make me feel (sort of like I'm vibrating from the inside out). Do you still use the Thermo-Snacks?

Thanks for sharing, again, it really is helpful.

  2. Hi Pat!

I am so proud of you for deciding to start your own journey! It's scary and exciting at the same time, but I'll be here to help you through it. Let me see if I can answer some of your questions...

As to eating out, I don't do it often. Your center can provide you a guide to eating out, after you have been on the plan for I think 60 days. In the meantime, make sure you are ordering lean protiens and steamed veggies. Ask them not to cook your food in butter or oil. If you order salad, go for non-fat and get it on the side so that you can control the amount you use. If it's the type of restraunt that puts bread on the table, ask them not to bring it out in the first place. Ask for a box right away, so you can box up your "extras" if the portion sizes are large and ask for lemon to put in your water. You get a flavor boost, as well the lemon helping to flush fats and salts.

If you can, eat a piece of fruit before you go so that you are not starving when you get to the restraunt.

As for Thermo-Boost, yep I still drink them, twice a day every day! Try adding more water if you get cotton mouth or feel jittery. I use 16-20 oz of water per packet, sure makes getting that 80 oz of water a day easier too. If they still make you feel jittery, talk to your councelor, maybe there is something else you can do.

Thanks for stopping by, come back any time!

  3. Hi there! It sounds as though you are doing so incredibly well. I'm so proud of you!!
I haven't been to my center in 8 weeks and I have 4 weeks to hit my goal weight. LOL ...
So - I'm focused ... once again ... Good Luck on getting those boots - You're soooo close. Congrats - You must be thrilled with your progress.
I saw the above comment re: the Termo-Boost. I add my thermo-boosts to an entire water bottle which is 32 oz ... so I do two of those a day and then an addition 16 oz of plain water in the evenings ... I have never been jittery as a result ...

  4. Hi there,
I don't normally post on people's blogs, but we started Slimgenics around the same time & just wanted to let you know what a GREAT job you are doing!! I completely understand your torment over the yummy foods - the mind shift of healthy eating is 100% settled for me either. I look forward to the day when I can balance out a few treats here & there with overall healthier habits, but worry that the few 'treats' may result in a total regression!

Anyway, keep up the good work! It was fun to read several of your posts as I can relate to them all.

  7. I went on the same journey last year. It was hard. I had setbacks. I had plateaus, peaks, and valleys. I started in April of 2009 at 278 lbs. In March of 2010 I reached my goal weight (103 lbs later.) Life is good on the other side of being fat.

My heart goes out to all to take this challenge and invest in themselves; it is the best investment that you will ever make. Enjoy the boots. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy life after weight loss, stabilization, maintenance and beyond. It is a good life.

  8. I just started with Slimgenics this past weekend and stumbled on your blog today...what has been happening these past three months? Did you make plan? I love all your helpful comments...I fell off plan last night and had a piece of my husband's birthday cake (I feel I must confess ;-)) and today I feel gross.
